Request for hosts file and only domains format. #48

Hi, May you also release other 2 formats, hosts file (0.0.0.0 example.com) and only domains format (example.com)? Thanks.

You mean like https://pastebin.com/yFWN4veZ? The list can easily be edited to make it compatible for hosts format or domain only using a word editing program like MS word, simply use Find & Replace to replace || and ^ as desired. If you're asking me to release a version of both that are continually updated by me, I'm not sure when or if I will currently.

Maybe a batch-script that automatically pulls the latest blocklist from the web, then convert it for use in the hosts-file

Still looking into a way to make this automatically happen, a few people are looking into a way to automate it

A member of our Discord server developed a lua program to do this, he has also included his own list into it, not sure if I will implement it into the website at this time, but I do have the file that I have not yet tested yet if someone is interested, requires lua 5.x and curl

Would keeping it here as https://github.com/HexxiumCreations/threat-list/commit/8b0256d8dbb6cdc3cdc06020a8e8812124360890 be acceptable for your request? it will require manual updating every so often, but should suffice without an automated way to update it implemented yet

  1. How about using 0.0.0.0 instead of 127.0.0.1?

  2. Sorry for the delay @lancelot-moon - very busy IRL atm, but I'll get these done for you soon, and try to remember to keep them somewhat up to date going forward, tho if I forget, be sure to ping me, got a lot to keep track of atm. You're also welcome to push your own updated version of it if I forget, I will swing by to verify it before pushing it anytime there is one. As for the two requests, I fixed the entries (will maybe edit more tomorrow) and probably make the domains list if I'm not too tired after work

At this time I have no way to automate it, so it will require me to maintain them when I have time. Will attempt to update them when pull requests for the threat list main are pushed. Per the domains format, any changes required?

It's okay, glad I could help, sorry for the delay in it, I will try to automate it someday, but maintain it myself every update for now
