Fixed missing import and a few typos in genred #91

Should fix issue #90, and while I was here I fixed a few typos. Please proof read them in case they weren't typos after all!

Thanks James; because I had started making changes I just added your changes manually -- quite a few! So difficult testing all this stuff; too many possible options and pathways to explore. Closing this. It's in the development branch but I will probably release a new version pretty soon and once Paul has installed, I would be grateful if you could check whatever you can.
