window.orientation value not set

The web tester doesn't seem to have a window.orientation value set.  When I 
alert it in the web tester it is "undefined".  Is this expected?  Is there a 
way to get the orientation set and/or generate orientation events?  I see how 
to change the tester from landscape to portrait and back again and I see the 
orientation value in the logs but I keep seeing undefined for the 
window.orientation value.
