Do we need species = "GENERIC" in genome simulation? #524

While revising how we simulate honeybee genomes according to the exisitng demography for some other project, I noticed we use argument species = "GENERIC". Is this OK and is it actually needed? I am jusr raising this so we double check it does not have any impact we would not want.
