[Feature Request] Ability to make armor trims use defined colour palettes, rather than calculating average colour of input material #28

Hi, I'd like to suggest adding the ability to toggle if a material should use a defined colour palette, rather than always resorting to calculating the average colour from the input material assets. As far as I know, this is a feature vanilla 1.20 provides, but I'm unsure if your mod provides with this ability as well.

The reason why this feature could be useful, is in cases where, say I want to add a trim material for opal gems, which usually consist of various different colours. The average colour of this wouldn't translate well into the game, and would thus likely not represent the opal material properly.

I’ll think about it.

Sounds good! To be frank, the major reason why I'd like to see this be possible, is due to the new armor trim materials the developers over at the TerraFirmaCraft team has introduced as per their port of TFC to 1.20. Here they've add very neat palettes for some of their materials (which includes gems such as opal). As such I wanted to see if it was possible to bring those changes to 1.18.2, with the help of your mod, but the albeit very few limitations, unfortunately hinders the accomplishment of that endeavour.

The attached image should hopefully help convey what I mean in regards to the "opal gem" palette stuff, i.e. having both purple and blue colours or others. image

I never really investigated how palettes work though… I’ll look at it.
