Moddable SDK 4.6.0 includes fontbm binaries as part of the release tool binaries. We did this to make life easier for developers. It was motivated by Node-RED MCU work begun by developers in Japan to support Japanese text in the Node-RED dashboard on embedded devices (which is very cool!).
I don't know if this requires any changes to xs-dev or its documentation, but I wanted to flag it here just in case.
(I think it makes sense to continue to support building fontbm from xs-dev, it just won't usually be necessary)
