3 years ago Update: I fought the boss again, this time as a party of 2, and it worked this time. It seems I overthought it, the previous kill glitched for whatever reason and simply didn't count.
Problem description
"The Final Confrontation" mission is bugged. I spent the last 2 days trying to solo the Kiritomo boss, after I finally succeeded at it, I wasn't teleported out of the room or anything of the sort, the boss respawned about 10 seconds later and killed me, when I went to speak to the mission NPC, he continues to request that I confront the boss. About two days ago I went to the peak of Toad Mountain and saw the Kiritomo NPC standing there, I spoke with him, after the usual dialogue; he "went to hide" in the Toad village and disappeared from the mountain, I then went to the village to see, and indeed, the well named "Boss Fight" was there, I went in and started my quest to try to kill this boss. I noticed that the mission still says "Confront Kiritomo on the peak of Toad Mountain", so I went there, believing that I had made a mistake and perhaps simply forgot to do something before killing the boss, then I realized that there is another bug going on: every time I enter the map where the Kiritomo NPC appeared(at the peak of the mountain), I can see the NPC for less than one second, he then disappears. I can reproduce it consistently, it happens every time I go into the map.

Observed result
Cannot complete the mission, a lot of time and effort wasted.
Expected result
Should have completed the mission after killing the boss, should be getting the sweet, sweet mission EXP.
More details
As you can see in picture number 2, the UI has not even fully loaded yet, and that is the period in which I can see the Kiritomo NPC(which I shouldn't be able to see, because I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he said he'd go to hide in the village and this part of the quest was done). In picture number 3, the UI has already loaded and the toad disappeared.
