With previous versions of GeoBeagle, all of the cache details data was stored
in /sdcard/GeoBeagle. Over time (since we didn't
delete them), this meant thousands of files. Putting so many files in one
directory became *the* major performance problem
with importing caches.
The new version stores the cache data in GeoBeagle/data/SOURCE.gpx/CACHE.html
where SOURCE is the name of the source
GPX file, and CACHE is the geocaching id. With much fewer files in each
directory, the import is much faster.
Please describe what you see in the /sdcard/GeoBeagle directory. Maybe try
renaming /sdcard/GeoBeagle to something else,
select "Delete All Caches" and try the import again. Could be there is a bug in
gpx file handling; have you tried .zip files as well?
Go ahead and attach sample cache files and I'll try them out.
Thanks,
Steve

Status:
There is no GeoBeagle/data/ directory on my sdcard. I see a number of files
with the
name using the pattern CACHE_ID.html.
Taken actions:
1. Rename /sdcard/GeoBeagle to /sdcard/_GeoBeagle
2. Start GeoBeagle
3. Delete all Caches - Result: "No Caches--Click Menu ..."
4. Sync GPX files
5. Select a single Cache
6. Press "Details" - Result: Details get displayed. :-)
Additional:
7. Check /sdcard/GeoBeagle - Result: There is a subdirectory data
Conclusion:
On my device, the subdirectory data did not get created. But after having a new
GeoBeagle directory, it worked.
Additional info:
I have tried to reproduce the situation with the following steps:
a. Remove the new GeoBeagle directory and restore the old one
b. Delete all caches
c. Sync GPX files
d. Open a cache and show details - Result: It worked. Data subdirectory was
created.
Conclusion: The issue is related to the existence of old cache files.
Hope this helps
If you still need my files, please let me know.

I'm still a little confused about how this happened (and there are other
reports of sync problems so I'd like to
get to the bottom of it).
Did you try syncing originally before doing the rename? What happened?
Are you able to reproduce the problem now at all?
Thanks,
Steve

Unfortunately I'm not sure if I have tried syncing before.
Moreover I can't check it out now. Maybe I can give it a try later.
