Sync interrupted when getting text message or phone call

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start sync of GPX file (big file with over 30,000 caches)
2. Receive text message or phone call, after taking care of either you will see 
that the sync stopped midway through the sync process.
3.

What is the expected output? To continue sync'ing in the background without any 
interruption.  Maybe pause the sync process until we finish taking care of 
other things and continue where we left off from.

What do you see instead?  Sync is interrupted leaving it partially complete.  I 
managed to sync 32,491 caches, Geobeagle gets real slow and navigating from one 
screen to another will often cause a force close.

What version of the product are you using? Version 1.1.20

On what operating system?  Version 2.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I'm guessing the issues I have seen is because of the number of caches I tried 
to sync.  The most I've ever sync before was only about 10K and that seemed to 
sync fine and work okay without much lag or force close.

The sync does pick up after interruption (more or less).
