This is a highly interesting feature.
Add a new database table with user state for caches.

Not planned to implement on a short term.

I recently purchased a garmin oregon for caching and love it. Use it along
side
Geobeagle. The option on the Orgeon allows you to log your finds, then upload
a
simple text file to your fieldnotes. If you would like I could supply you with
my
recent text file if this would make it easier for you to implement.
The Oregon simply mounts as a drive on your computer (as the G1 can), and you
browse
the drive for the file to upload.
I am not sure if there is a legal issue in creating a file that looks like the
garmin
file or not, but figured I would add my thoughts to this thread. The current
SMS
feature works well in Geobeagle when you have a cell reception. I really like
the
Oregon route though.

I don't think it will be a problem.
I'm thinking we add the following to preferences:
Logging:
- Log via SMS (phone number configurable), or
- Log via field notes file at /sdcard/gb_field_notes.txt

I'm going to do field note logging to a file first, and then log a separate bug
for
configurable sms phone number.

I think we have a confusion of what the feature is.
1) Store logging notes offline to upload later
2) Remember and display if the user has found each geocache

I agree with Comment 9, and feel that they are both beneficial, but I am
personally
more interested in point 2)
