JoyPro Freezes/crashes when "Add Relationship" button is pressed.

First Time User. Experienced on 05 November 2021 when attempting to install v. 57, and today, 06 November 2021 when attempting to install v. 58. JoyPro Zipped File downloaded successfully from Github Content unzipped using unzip tool provided in TOOLS folder Opened program as Admin. Screen opened OK, as expected, having watched Instructional videos 1 & 2. 3 rows of buttons on top, 2 at the bottom A single continuous yellow bar below top rows of buttons, and 14 vertical "column markers" divided 6 on the left and 8 on the right of the screen, again as seen in the video I selected DCS Open Beta from the dropdown menu Then clicked on "Add Relationship" All buttons other than the dropdown menu previously mentioned greyed out and remained frozen.

System: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor AMD FX-8370 8 Core Processor 4.00 Ghz 16.0 GB installed Ram Device ID: C8D2949A-0A8F-4162-8ABA-C34C84A8D053 Product ID: 00326-10000-00000-AA997 .NET Framework v. 48 Installed Hardware: TM Warthog HOTAS with F18 Stick addon

Does the Add Relation Window not pop up? It is by design that it grays out the buttons, so it doesn’t go into an undefined state while you editing or adding a reelation. The buttons should become available once the add relation window closes.

Could you hover with your mouse over the joypro symbol in your taskbar and check if it shows 2 windows there or just 1?

And also downloading the latest v59 build and unzipping it solves the issue? Or does it still persist?

Re your requests: When the "Add Relation" button is pressed, there is NO response, no pop-up screen. The only live functions, at this point are the Three dropdown menu options - Group Filter, Device Filter and DCS Instance. The "Gold" Relations Management Bar which can be clicked on and off, and the two check boxes "Nuke Devices" and "Keep defaults" can be checked and un checked. If I hover over the app Icon in the task bar I see the JoyPr0 Initial Screen, and below it, the Title, "Add New Relation", but NO accessible or selectable Screen.

Can you make sure you have .Net Framework 4.7.2 installed?

The issues of no window opening sounds really strange. Can you also delete the meta.info file within your Documents\JoyPro and try again?

I have my Task Bar set up vertically on the right of the monitor screen. When I start JoyPro, I see the App Icon on this bar. However, I have just noticed that when I click on "Add a new relation" The Icon on the top left corner of the opening screen also becomes live as well and maximize and minimize option icons appear with it indicating it is for a minimized image. When I click on this, it disappears, but now if I hover over the icon on the right side task bar, the "Add a new Relationship" screen appears with the opening screen.

I hope you can understand my explanation.

I think understand but that makes me question. did you make double sure you deleted this File "meta.info" before your last start? it contains information about where the window position was last time. So if it closes in a buggy state it might cause this error.

I have loaded various versions of JoyPro, from v.57 and up to today's v.63, over the last 3 days, a couple of them several times each. Every time that I re installed, I cleared my docs folder of any related files. I worked as a Production Engineer for 15 years for one of the largest suppliers of Lithographic Machines used to produce computer chips, and often had to carry out initial troubleshooting of the Robotic systems used to load and unload wafers to and from the machines, I learned the hard way about avoiding legacy issues. The first time I reinstalled v.57 I ran the search app for "JoyPro" files and removed then to ensure I was not re-running any avoidable issues.

Sorry :) I have started my career in QA and also partly doing IT stuff, sometimes, you re telling someone something and even after 5 times telling it has not been done. Hence why I am the way I am.

I make in the next build I publish this evening that Relation window is trying to be topmost and pressing. And see if that solves it for you. And if that doesnt work i can try add a bunch of logging and check if i can possibly see there something. If all that does not help i can just suggest that you download the branch i can tell you in the code where you would need to take a look and see if you run into any unforseen stuff.

v64 is up, which takes now full screen foremost attention on your screen if you have fewer than 2 Relations in total. So lets see if that fixes it for you.

How do I open a relation template? (Assume now called Pr0files, as in "last Pr0file"). The term Template no longer appears in the option boxes w.r.t. other boxes, The only boxes which did not appear to open up to anything were: Overlay Settings Overview to CSV Overlay. But, bearing in mind I am only on ProJoy Video 3 at this time, who am I to say nothing happened. By the way, no apology required, I was just pointing out that whilst I am a mech engineer rather than computer science, I did learn the importance of a solid Trouble shooting routine. If it came over Snarky, not intended. I am immensely grateful for your work, and, from what I saw in the boxes that did open, the depth and scope of where you are going with this are impressive. Thanks for your time, both for the project, and your efforts over the last couple of days. It appears to be working, it is just that when the add relation screen is called up, it is minimized and the maximize button is required to make it visible.

Can you add 2 test relations and then try add a third? Because the behaviour where it maximizes is limited to the first relations, in case its just at the start and in case other people run into that.

Overview to CSV should open a windows file exporer where you have to select a file or rather save a file. I can't modify anything in that regard unless i build my own Save File dialog.
With the overlay its normal that you dont see anything until pressed :)

Oh and Relation templates are .rl files which are basically relations without joystick info with them. Profiles are relations with all the joystick info attached to them you can find them here on github atleast mine, and from some other people but they haven't updated theirs in quite some time.

As I said earlier, I am only on Video 3, I will press on tomorrow and run some more details, but need to be slightly more aware. I am 75% good, but need to be better tuned in, in order to identify what is the correct outcome. I have put 3 relations in, but cannot honestly say what I have achieved at this point. I will give an opinion after video 18. Seriously, If I can assist let me know.
