What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set the screen backlight brightness level to 0%
2. Press the lock button on the top of the phone to turn off the screen.
3. Press the lock button again to tuen on the screen

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: The screen backlight brightness level stays same.
Actual: The screen backlight brightness level goes up to 100%.

What version of the boot.img and system.img are you using?

Nightly build - 20110110

Can you provide logcat output during that error?

No relevant output as far as I know.

Please provide any additional information below.

I guess someone might have reported this bug because this is very easy to
notice, but let me report it anyway since it still exists.

I'm on rc5 and I can confirm this happening with me. This also causes the
display's battery usage to be much higher than everything else.

Please try with system 6.2-rc1/boot 3.0.

V6.3-rc2 made the left bottom backlight led go off :(
And after a while I just couldn't unlock my phone, but that's not this issue.
At first I thought it was Hardware, thankfully it is not (charging screen
lights up pretty nicelly), but that means that it is a software bug.
It's strange that only one of the leds went off.

This bug "Backlight brightness level goes 100% when screen is turned off and
on" is fixed. Please open a new bug for the missing lower left backlight led.
