Widget's "lost" after restart #394

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Did you search through the other issues to make sure that this issue has
not been already reported?
Did you look at the FAQ http://openetna.com/openetna/test ?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install program
2. add widget to a screen
3. restart phone

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Once installed the widget works fine (no errors, lockup's, problems) but once
phone is rebooted, widgets no longer work (shows as "problem loading widget")
and are unable to be loaded again without re-installing the program. Program
itself works fine (after reboot), but program is not listed in widget selection
list after reboot. This is true for:

facebook
google search
winamp
weathereye
email
Handcent SMS

I have re-flashed this version several times now (with the last time performing
a wipe 6 times before pushing image).

What version of the boot.img and system.img are you using?
Boot 3.0/System 6.3 RC2

Can you provide logcat output during that error?

Please provide any additional information below.

not anymore, I'm back on 6.1-rc5 :)

I'm not sure why I was the only person experiencing that. The apps I was having
trouble with were restored apps as well as apps from the market, so its not
cause i'm using a bad app (unless the market is downloading a bad app). it was
only after i rebooted my phone. the application (in most cases) was still
installed and accessible on my phone, but the widget could not be used and I
could not re-add it to the desktop. I would have to reinstall the app
altogether. I didn't try every single widget i had available but even some of
the google apps would do it as well.

Ok.
The latest release is good.
Why are you back at 6.1?
What did you miss in 6.3?

I tried 6.3-rc2 and I had it on for a few days, but i noticed it was a lot
slower than 6.1, my screen looked like a T.V on an off channel whenever I woke
up my phone, lots of crashes and hangs, the black area in the lower left corner
of the screen, charging the phone took 2-3 times longer than 6.1 and of course
the widgets/application issue as reported here. I've installed every version of
OE thats been released and I think I still have all the releases strewn about
several of my PC's, and I do like trying out the new releases but 6.3 kinda
pissed me off a few times so I'm just going to wait and see some other users
responses before I flash rc5 (or newer). and so everyone knows, i'm in no way
criticizing the dev team here at OE. If it weren't for these guys I would have
turfed this phone months ago.

With 6.3rc5 I stopped seeing my lcd with a "tv" image, black screens related to
wifi are gone. Did not have any issues with widgets, black area is solved.

There are still some issues with unknown phone freezes :(

I am not criticizing you for waiting.

I am going to close this issue as it cannot be reproduced and no one else
commented.

If you have this issue again with OpenEtna 6.3 and you feel it's not your/your
phone's fault, please comment on this issue and I'll reopen it.

Thank you
