Now using China Unicom WCDMA and GPRS,no matter 2G or 3G,unable to call or send
message, find no place to set the message center number.others say they can
send/receive message and make calls well if they use China Mobile.
BTW,Where's the hidden menu?

The hidden menu is not compatible with android 2.1 and is not included.
I need some more info on this issues.
Can you provide logcat output while sending an sms or placing a phone call?
And one logcat for the whole boot process until the keyguard comes up.

This issue is related to a 128KB SIM card.
As some fans reported, under the same operator, the 64KB SIM card works fine(2G
net),but a 128KB SIM card (3G net)comes with this issue(unable to send SMS or
call out, able to receive SMS or MMS,able to answer a call)

Differnt operators,same network-GSM 2G,different data connection-one is
GPRS,another one is EDGE,both are 64K SIM,SMS and call works fine.

Do those operators use CDMA instead of GSM for which it does not work?
Original comment by polyth...@gmail.com
on 2 Aug 2010 at 3:58
In China,Unicom is running GSM with only GPRS no EDGE and WCDMA networks,CMCC
is running GSM with EDGE and TD-SCDMS as 3G, Chinatelecom is running CDMA2000
and CDMA EVDO as 3G.
I've tested CMCC,using its 64KB SIM under GSM,all works fine.
Using Unicom, using its 64KB SIM under GSM,all works fine.
But the problem is ,using Unicom, under WCDMA,using its 128KB SIM ,outgoing SMS
or call failed, reports"message not sent".BTW,the WCMDA users only have to use a
128KB SIM.

Singapore is running on WCDMA and GSM networks.
Is there an option to select between WCDMA and GSM in the rom ? If so, maybe
i'll try flashing this rom and select GSM network.
I know outgoing calls and SMS doesn't work on Singapore's WCDMA network.

I tried the new ROM with JIT,stil got this issue.
But in the new ROM,I can dial, then I can't hang off the call.I tried to send a
message,it just send failed with no notification.
As I first boot up,the home screen shows up,then system noticed me
"phone.android" is closed ,then I have to press the close button(In 4.1,thiere
is only one 'close' button,in new one, there are 'wait' and 'force close'
buttons).
It's mysterious to me that In 1.5 or LG'S 1.6,the data connection icon in the
notification bar was a 'H',but in 4.1 and this new one,it's a '3G'.

try this command:
radiooptions 8 [numberToCall]
from the terminal emulator and tell us if it works. It'll help to narrow down
the cause of the problem.
