6.3-rc7 2D performance much lower than 6.1-rc5

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Take a look at the System Benchmark for 6.1-rc5 from 
http://forum.openetna.com/index.php?topic=744.msg7540#msg7540. 
2. Look at the results of the rest of users with 6.3-rc7.
3. There's a noticeable difference in 2D performance when you update directly 
from 6.1-rc5 to 6.3-rc7.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Faster graphics performance expected, but you get very slow performance.

What version of OpenEtna are you using?
Currently running 6.1-rc5, but the problem has been found on 6.3-rc7.

Can you provide logcat output during that error?
Don't think it will be useful.

If the issue made your phone crash&reboot, please provide the output of
"adb shell cat /proc/last_kmsg" on the boot following the crash.

Hello. 6.3 rc7 is definitely slower than 6.1 rc5
I did not test on 6.1 rc5, but here are results from System Benchmark on 6.3 
rc7 (overclocked to 710 MHz):
Memory: 85
CPU Integer: 207
CPU Float: 17
2D: 72
3D: 77
IO: 10
SD W: 20
SD R: 123
Total: 611

Many people has similar results. 2D performance is really low (see 
http://forum.openetna.com/index.php?topic=744.0 ).

For future reference, my result with 6.1-rc5 were the following ones:

Memory: 84
CPU Integer: 209
CPU Float: 17
2D: 127
3D: 85
IO: 20
SD W: 31
SD R: 43
Total: 601

You can ignore the total score, as it is affected by my SD card speed, which is 
Class 2.

I was sick and tired from 6.3 rc7 and it´s bugs. I have switched back to 6.1 
rc5.
My performance results are (6.1 rc5 on NOT overclocked device!):
Memory: 85
CPU Integer: 210
CPU Float: 17
2D: 119
3D: 87
IO: 20
SD W: 12
SD R: 45
Total: 595

It is mainly connected with the low speed. It takes a long time when phone has 
to react at user commands. Also very often when i was getting from screen off, 
the menu (with call and internet browser) did not appear! Only one thing I 
miss- the Camera.

This is ADW configuration. There is an issue explaining that. It was FAQed once.

I understand after all this is the only issue you had.

Yes, I think it is connected with low 2D. Or what else? 6.3 rc7 is just much 
slower than 6.1 rc5. And also the battery drains up very fast. 6.1 rc5 3 days 
vs. 6.3 rc7 only 1 day! Same using, same services enabled!

trmfreitas, if you have the time, make a backup of your current 6.3-rc7 and do 
a quick test with 6.1-rc5.

It won't take you too much time to notice the big difference in performance 
between both systems.

I have this same problem. The phone react slow with rc7. Much slower as with 
rc6. I now have overclock widget installed with a minimum and a maximum of 
528mhz. It now runs a lot faster. I did type a reply in this form here without 
the widget and it was almost not possible. When I did type a bit the text 
followed second later. Now with the overclock widget at 528mhz it works great.

copybit make very noise logs on ddms

you can try to replace your /system/lib/hw/copybit.msm7k.so with the v6.1rc5's.

I can get a good 2D result with my 2.6.32.9 kernel based custom firmware.

same problem for me.    hang hup from stand by for about 10 second  ( not every 
times)   lower performance than rc5  ( rc5 is top performance @710mhz but less 
stable and random reset )   and another little thing for my test on motorola 
with same cpu is overclock @ 749 mhz.  on motorola run all ok at that frequency 
 :D

Same problem here. everything very slow. went back to 6.1 rc5.
have everything working there exept the slow gps and some bluetooth problems so 
not in any pressure to update.
