Can't click and drag with controller (on Monitor #) #25

So can't move and resize windows etc. Have to use a real mouse for that.

Hotrian commented 7 years ago

I think this should work when targeting Monitor #, but wouldn't work when targeting an application, because the Overlay would resize on every frame, and the Overlay does not update on frames where it is being resized.

Yeah I'm talking about full monitor

Hotrian commented 7 years ago

It definitely should work - will test ASAP.

Can definitely confirm it seems broken - previously click and drag worked fine but I couldn't get it to work at all today. Will definitely fix ASAP.

Any update on this? I just bought it and ran into this exact problem. Can't click on anything in the window. Otherwise I was able to use the Vive controllers (i.e mouse positoin), but no click. Tried every button on the controller.

Are you targeting a monitor or an application? Which version are you using?

Can you try launching Steam as Admin, which will launch OVRdrop as Admin? Might be a permission issue.

If I remember correctly I wasn't able to reproduce this issue again in later testing, so I thought it was a temporary bug that a restart would fix (and would be difficult to track down), but I can certainly mess with it again if this issue is still persisting.

Sorry, false alarm - I jumped into WebVR and was able to interact with an open VS Code window just fine. Not sure what it was - maybe specific to the settings panel? Random birthing pains?

The only teeny glitch I've found so far is that resizing windows upwards is super glitchy because the mouse seems to be perpetually leaving the window area ("wpwards", to stretch the window). However I can always maximize - which will resize it to the original size - so it's not the end of the world.

Anyway, this is an awesome app and you're awesome for making it. Thank you!

Sorry for the delay!

I finally discovered the issue causing this, and it will be fixed in a future build of OVRdrop. If anyone needs this functionality immediately, please say something and I'll post this unusually experimental build.

I found that this issue explicitly occurred when selecting a Monitor. If you have this issue with a Window selected, please try relaunching OVRdrop as Admin as this may be a permissions issue. If you cannot or do not want to launch OVRdrop directly, you may also launch Steam as Admin, which will then launch OVRdrop as admin.
