On my CentOS system, simply cloning date gives
date
$ git status # On branch master # Changes not staged for commit: # (use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed) # (use "git checkout -- <file>..." to discard changes in working directory) # # modified: test/tz_test/tzdata2015e.txt.zip # modified: test/tz_test/tzdata2015f.txt.zip # modified: test/tz_test/tzdata2016c.txt.zip # modified: test/tz_test/tzdata2016d.txt.zip # modified: test/tz_test/tzdata2016e.txt.zip # modified: test/tz_test/tzdata2016f.txt.zip # no changes added to commit (use "git add" and/or "git commit -a")
This is because all files have git attribute set to "text".
This means we cannot use Date via ExternalProject. See https://github.com/SyneRBI/SIRF-SuperBuild/issues/864
