Is there a way to add a PayPal.me link? #415

It would be useful to add a link with a note to encourage developers to contribute.

It might encourage others to use hubpress if they know they can add easily these links to possibly get donations.

Hi @peter-lawrey,

I agree with you, i will add more fields in the settings page (paypal, dribble ...)

Do you have any feel for Gratipay vs Paypal in terms of payments?

For me Gratipay is for recurrent payment and PayPal is more for "one shot" payment.

Since my inscription on Gratipay (6 months ago), i received ~1,05$ every weeks from Gratipay = a total of 24,25$. Since the beginning of HubPress (02/2015), i received 2 donations from PayPal = a total of ~ 155$

Receive donations is not easy.

I chose Gratipay because my philosophy is: if each user (or stargazer) of HubPress is offering me a starbuck each month, i could work a lot on HubPress maybe full-time.

But i'm not sure to be really relevant because donations is not an objective for me, it's a solution to be faster and more focus

BTW, I donated £100 which is ~$130, so it's not a lot per person otherwise. ;)

Never the less, it can give people hope that they could make some money from it.

  • I think it's easier to have donations from PayPal because everyone knows PayPal and with PayPal.me things are now really easy.
  • If you have a team, Gratipay is cool for the distribution of donation to your teammates and OSS is a really important part of the Gratipay project.

I'm so grateful

Would be great to get some extra settings fields implemented.

The challenge would be incorporating the fields into the themes.

How should we handle this, @anthonny ?

Whoops, so used to closing out issues these last few days, I got an itchy trigger finger. 😈
