Rework to use java.nio and retain extra extensions #9

This (should) improve compatibility with unconventional environments and enables mods retaining their extra extensions (such as .jar.disabled for MultiMC) but still get updated

Damn I had a lot of blank lines - appreciate the code clean up. I'll test if the client / server suggestions work as intended before merging.
