This still tends to be a problem, sometimes they don't even get through. A user has provided this info, which may help investigate:

"I came up after and said I had some problems with spam and having my email confirmed. I resolved it by adding em4190.tlcmap.org as a permitted sender in Mimecast. (tlcmap.org didn’t work)" mimecastspammessage

Have applied to the mail service providers to be added to the whitelist.

@BillPascoe Mufeng has applied for whitelisting to email service provides so I guess we wait and see...
