Good idea! Gonna give this a try for version 0.4. I'll be adding a preference
to choose the tap sound.

I tested the "tap" sounds, and wasn't very happy with the length (sometimes
when typing fast, didn't sound all keystrokes because the playing time was too
long). I send the "tap" files corrected (I hope).
I've also included some other aif files, modified from iLife files (I don't
know if there could be problems with copyright).
Best regards,

TEM files are also modifications of the iLife Electric Typewriter, thinking
about the possibility of issuing a sequence of different sounds each time you
type, so that the result is more realistic. If this can be done and you like
the idea but there are problems with copyright, I could prepare different
"taps" directly from my keyboard.

I just checked the iLife 11 SLA available at the Hardware & Software Product
Agreements page on the Apple website[1]. They don't specifically handle the
case of an application using them as sound effects, but in my interpretation
(I'm not a lawyer) it can be considered as an 'audio project' case, making the
sounds royalty free. Apple KB article HT2931 seems to confirm my thought,
explaining that part of the SLA as "you can't distribute the loops as loops",
but you can use them in other projects[2].
Other developers ran into this before([3], [4]), and their interpretation seems
to be similar to mine. I'd say they're safe to use and I'm willing to use
them. I own an iLife license - actually more than one, since I got it one with
each of my three Macs - so there should be no problem for me to include them.
(At worst I'll receive a C&D letter from Apple's legals and I'll pull the
sounds off, no worries.)

Concerning the multiple sounds sequence, sure, there's no problem with that.
It requires some code changes, but they're minimal. I can make it load all the
sound files with the same name and a sequential number at the end, and play
them sequentially (or maybe randomly) when typing.
