Adding widgets to a project #1659

I would like to add a slider into a project. I managed to create a widget page, but I am not able to add a widget to a project.

I need a project section, because I would like the featured image and summary appear in the portfolio in the homepage.

Is there already a way to obtain that? Or this would be a new feature to add?

Widgets can only be added to Widget Pages - https://sourcethemes.com/academic/docs/managing-content/#create-a-widget-page .

To add widgets to any page would ideally require changes in Hugo.
