Making docs pages appear similarly to blog posts.

I changed all my blog posts to type: docs because I need the TOC, sidebar and previous-next buttons. But now I am missing:

• Featured Images https://sourcethemes.com/academic/docs/managing-content/#featured-image or header-image
• A way to include "Doc Posts" on the front page (globally or individually)

It would be cool if we could use image and featured in docs.

Another more radical option, since other people are requesting table of contents for blogs post, would be to just drop docs types and make table of content and previous-next buttons optionally available in blog posts.

In case you weren't aware, a ToC shortcode already exists which can be used on any page :)

There's definitely room to explore your points more - there are a number of similar issues which touch on some of the points you mentioned.
