Thanks for a lovely theme gcushen. I have a request, it would be great if there can be some sort of provision to add google adsense code to hugo website with the help of config.toml. Thanks.

Glad you like the theme :) Advertising doesn't really fit the philosophy of the theme. However, you can add advert code by inserting the HTML into your content files or by using Hugo's inheritance principle - copy one of Academic's layouts and paste it in a similar path from your root e.g. your_website_root/layouts/partials/footer_container.html and edit your copy to include your advert HTML code as desired.

It would be good if we could also target the empty left/right are of the posts when viewed on the destktop, without requiring significant changes to the html/css files.

How would you approach this?
