Add a working version of the people block.
Motivation and context
I previously had the people widget working on an earlier version of the site. I noticed that the per-author webpages and links were no longer being generated. I went to update to the latest version of the academic template and saw that the people block (formerly widget) is no longer working.
I played around for a bit and was able to get something back, but it was unpresentable. I am no expert in this space. I see that the people page is still available on the theme-research-group template.
