Since the previous version of Academic that you were using, a theme system was introduced. The theme system standardises the style in this way so that different font and color themes can be easily applied.
You can customize fonts or override the subtitle font using custom CSS if you wish. Please use the discussion forum for any further support.
@gcushen I think your missing what I'm saying... I'm not asking for support on this issue. I'm reporting a bug. It looks like per #289 that the objective with the classic style was to replicate this theme's previous and older typographical choice. This part was missed, and therefore seems to be a bug "in the new 'classic' implementation".
Greetings, I am just now upgrading from about a year of non-upgrades. I really like the work that has been done. I just notice one little thing which does not seem to be consistent with #289 : There is an option for typography: "default", "classic", "playfair". I notice that when "classic" is chosen that the sub-title of sections on the main page appear in a serif-ed font. It use to be a san-sarif font. The same as the section title, but just a little smaller in size. It would be nice to have the san-sarif option back.
