Update Technology Names in Contribute Page. #61

the part where it says smartSeq or 10x technology should say SmartSeq2 single cell RNA-seq or 10x V2 single cell RNA-seq

Hi @jodihir can you give us the proper capitalization here and we can update this.

It's not in a template at the moment for CMS as the styling is very custom. We can make a custom template for this or move it to the standard markdown look. This is a "back page" so not sure it needs to be so stylized and it will be easier to maintain if we make it more document oriented which can be expressed easier without custom templates etc.

In any case, if you can get us the updated text for the box we can change it.

Hi @NoopDog. Here is our suggestion for this chunk of text:

The Atlas is built by the community. We plan to incorporate all types of single cell data.

and you might want to change the button to say “Contribute" instead of "Contact Us"

@frano-m I have updated the text. Can you fix the wrap of the "Our pipelines can process..." line?

Lets make this wrap so the V2 is under the O. Thx

Hi @NoopDog I think that last line "All single cell genomics assays are welcome" isn't going to work. We aren't yet ready for all possible data types. Can you remove that bullet point?

@jodihir I would suggest that we recommend people approach us about data and don't say single cell genomics or imaging or anything because we won't necessarily turn anyone away but depending on what they have and the pace they want to submit and we might be able to do more than store will determine our precise reaction

Thanks @lauraclarke. So it sounds like you agree to remove that last bullet point but are you suggesting we include some wording about contacting us to discuss data submission? (We have the "Contribute" button there, but we could add some wording about that.)

Yeah, I think we need to encourage people to contact us if they have something which they aren't sure if we want or not. I wonder if we should change

"all single-cell genomics data is welcome"

to something like

"We are interested in cellular resolution data, please contact us if you have data you want to submit"

@lauraclarke I see. Just to get around using "We are interested in..." twice (it's in the line above.), does this sound OK:

Please contact us to discuss submitting your cellular resolution data.

Yep, @gabsie @adriennes do you have a view of cellular versus single cell? I think cellular resolution it a little more broad but covers some of the imaging experiments better than single cell but we should be consistent

I guess submitting might need to be contributing to if that is the verb we are using

Let's decide on this wording and close up this ticket.

Our discussion left off with this wording suggestion for the last line in the box on the contribute page: (https://dev.data.humancellatlas.org/contribute/overview/overview):

Please contact us to discuss submitting your cellular resolution data.

The entire box would thus read as follows:

We plan to incorporate all types of single cell data. We are interested in openly consented data from human subjects. Our pipelines can proccess data derived from Smart-seq2 and 10x v2 scRNA-seq assays. Please contact us to discuss submitting your cellular resolution data.

Other suggestions, comments?

At the meeting we decided that @NoopDog will change the last line to: "Please contact us to discuss submitting your cellular resolution data."
