  | 30 | EuPIA Inventory List 2013 for printing inks for non-food contact surface of food contact articles. Extracted from the "Inventory list - Version December 2013, Comprising packaging ink raw materials applied to the non-food contact surface of food packaging," by EuPIA (European Printing Ink Association), a sector of CEPE aisbl (see https://www.eupia.org/key-topics/food-contact-materials/raw-material-selection).  Second document linked to from this document, covering photoinitiators, is not included as a separate source (versions 2013, 2018 and 2019, FCCdb sources 31-33, respectively). EuPIA gives following notice: "In 2007, EuPIA decided to collate and make publicly available a list of all the substances used in the manufacture of food packaging inks, with the aim of implementing a transparent tool for packaging converters and brand owners. From 2007 to 2013 the list served with useful function, intending to be a reference for competent authorities and other stakeholders. Since 2010, the amendment on food packaging inks of the Swiss Consumer Goods Ordinance is in force which contains a positive list of substances which only may be used in the manufacture of food packaging inks marketed in Switzerland. Germany follows suit and is discussing a similar approach. The consequence of having such listing in national legislation means the EuPIA Inventory List had become superseded by the evolution of legislation and was no longer relevant as an independent, updated document. As a result, it was decided at the end of 2013 that the EuPIA Inventory List should be closed as a document, but would be maintained for the purposes of historical reference only." | 5365 | 28 | inks (It should be noted that this Inventory of the printing inks for the non-food contact surface of food contact articles has been initiated by the European printing inks association in 2007 and updated until 2013, when it was considered “superseded by the evolution of legislation” due to the first publication of the Swiss printing inks list in 2013, and was thereafter maintained “for the purposes of historical reference only.” Nonetheless, since the Swiss regulation is not legally binding anywhere outside Switzerland, we decided to still include this source in our global inventory for printing inks. If this source had been excluded, the global inventory for printing inks would have harbored 4866 total and 2567 unique FCCs, compared to 5625 total and 2926 unique substances present now.) | Europe -- | -- | -- | -- | -- | -- | --   | 31 | EuPIA List 2013 of photoinitiators for printing inks and varnishes.
