TIFF image files rendering problem #596

Open atinesh-s opened 4 years ago

atinesh-s commented 4 years ago

I have to label dataset which has .tif image files, while labeling the dataset I found that labelImg renders images with some random noise in it, If I convert those images in other formats like .jpeg or .png then the noise gets disappear

Why labelImg rendering .tif files with random noises

PetrDvoracek commented 4 years ago

have you tried to open the image in normal image viewer? I used labelimg to label high resolution images (1600x1200) without any noise observation.

Hi @PetrDvoracek yes I tried opening the .tif images in image viewers and noise doesn't seem to appear there, below is a sample comparison of a tif image when opened in labelImg Screenshot-from-2020-08-10-10-45-56.png Images show the left portion of bank cheque images, for confidentiality issue I cannot share the whole image

Though I tried other .tif images and I didn't observe any noise, it might be specific with the dataset I am working on
