Gaussian interpolation alternative? #19

The sound emulation is mostly correct for the music (which is amazing), but the SFX (for some reason) seems to leave a lot to be desired.

I imagine this was a performance modification, but it really does leave a lot of games unplayable. It's not just an issue of preference - some sound effects are just painful and reverberate for far too long. Try playing Chrono Trigger and starting a new game - you'll see what I mean when the seaguls appear.

I really dislike the idea of having to play these games muted, but they're pretty rough to play. I'd rather a bit of playable lag than such vastly broken sound effects. Some are constant and last the majority of the game.

Any chance at another solution for sound effects? -- The music sounds great though~!

Ah, the sound effects in Chrono Trigger actually rely on pitch modulation. I've left out Gaussian interpolation for now due to performance, but pitch modulation probably won't be a big deal.

I really hope to see this soon! -- It's so expensive to have to buy these games again just to play them once more on physical (non-PC) gaming hardware! -- (speaking of Chrono Trigger, it's over $300 these days!!)
