Social Activity Contest Award System dApp #37

Throwing out an idea for a dApp for contesting which allows someone to create a contest, fund it with tokens and release the tokens based on certain social activity. This app could monitor Twitter hashtags, likes and comments and release contest funds based on certain criteria met.

What problem does this solve?: This is a way to decentralize the funding and awarding for a contest.

Examples: I want to run a contest awarding 100k hydro to the first person who can promote a tweet about Hydro getting 500 re-tweets. (the dApp would be working behind the scenes monitoring a tag and the tweets retweets)

I want to run a contest awarding anyone using the hashtag switchToHydro that gets 100 likes. (the dApp would be looking at certain hashtags posted on twitter and the likes they are getting)

Anyone with more than 100 followers who tags hydro and uses x hastag and gets 5 retweets can collect 1k hydro.

How it would work This dApp would allow a person or company to create a campaign. Fun it, or crowdsource the funding, allowing someone to easily submit to a wallet tied to that campaign by a QR code or similar.

The campaign creator sets the criteria - duration of campaign, when funds get released. Does it monitor a hashtag? number of retweets? does the person participating have to sign up? etc.

Other applications This dApp would use the Twitter API to collect data about its social platform. This dApp would not just be limited to Twitter, but also other social services or applications based on what data could be accessed. Facebook/Youtube/Instagram/ and or other decentralized services with an API.

Now what? Just throwing this out there, looking for thoughts, ideas, feedback.

You can make this DApp as a snowflake resolver, when snowflake owners set Its TwitterID on sign-up...

I think this is a great idea. This will boost the community's morale as an incentive is involved in promoting the company and the token.

A suggestion: Maybe we shouldn't restrict it to Twitter only. i.e Quora, I use it very often to answer questions and if the question is trendy or hot, my best answers usually get at least 2000 views. Compared to twitter which I only get a couple of hundred impressions.

Great idea! Getting the community involved and incentivising to promote positivity and awareness of the project can work wonders, also if possible add other mediums with large crypto communities like Instagram etc.

You could certainly add custom features as well, like targeting specific social media platforms for instance.

I’m on board with any way I can help.

I think your idea of developing "a dApp for contesting" is good. It can work as you have devised it. Probably the participants of the contest can use some means to reach the limit of likes in order to win. I have seen some bots participating in this type of tasks and I think it is not positive for a contest or marketing campaign. If you could develop a way to avoid their participation or at least debug them to get the results just.
