Submit Button for Settings is unnecessarily complicated

• Similar behavior with the options menu after clicking on a gear-icon: it is unclear what one needs to do to close it. Pressing escape works, but there should be a button or clicking somewhere else should close it automatically.
• This is only true for the node options, the global options are closing after pressing submit. Is this submit button necessary? Can changes also be always applied after selection and the menu closes after one leaves the menu-"area"?

Proposed Solution

• [ ] Clicking outside the settings panel closes it
• [ ] Settings are updated when the panel is closed
• [ ] Preview settings can be restored to the default (relative to the hard-coded) and initial (relative to the last time the panel was opened) values. This allows to revert all previewed changes.
