Support for A5+ devices (iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPhone 5, ...) #49

Until a bootROM/bootloader-level exploit is found for those devices, it is 
impossible to boot a custom ramdisk.
However, for devices jailbroken with Absinthe and ssh access, it should be 
possible to use the tools, provided that the "IOAESAccelerator enable UID" 
kernel patch is applied.

apparently this bug is not triggerable from usb, so it wont help loading 
unsigned ramdisks

i have the 4s keys, and i succesfully made ramdisk tool work on 
058-1056-002.dmg and it did create a 058-1056-002.dmg.ssh file and another one 
with a .dec extension i believe, now i am stuck at what to do next, anyone 
wanna help? lets get this working on the 4s as well!

Hi. I have an ipad 2 (ios 5.1.1 jb with absynthe) and need to recover photos 
and pdf files. This hardware configuration is able to run custom ramdisk and 
finally to dump nand recover delete files ?

It is still not possible to run a custom ramdisk on devices newer than the A4 
generation. This is due to the lack of a viable iBoot exploit for these devices 
(iH8sn0w's exploit requires the device to already be jailbroken through 
exploitation of a kernel vulnerability, so it's great for use of the AES GID 
key, but not for booting a custom ramdisk). The ideal exploit (and one that 
would be suitable for release without Apple simply being able to patch it in a 
software update) would be against the DFU implementation in the ROM bootloader.

ssh, dd image the ipad and run some tools to decrypt the image ? If so, how I 
can do this ?

@eng.albernaz compile the tools then copy (scp) ramdisk_tools/restored_external 
and ramdisk_tools/ioflashstoragekit to /var/root on the device. then run 
restored_external on the device and run ios_examiner.py on your host computer. 
assuming this works then follow the "NAND acquisition & deleted files recovery" 
section from the README (skip the redsn0w step).

you can create an issue on the bug tracker to report any problems you might 
encounter.

Hi,

I get the message "Kernel patching failed" when I run "./kernel_patcher" on the 
following device:

Jailbroken iPhone 4, iOS v6.1.2

Can this patch be applied on this version of iOS?

I, I'm trying to solve this but is way far from my capabilities. still after 
reading through here, maybe somwone can help. Does anyone here has access to 
Iphone 4s AES engine, if so would you be able to use GID key to encrypt the

hi jeans .
i have complied kernel_patcher with clang and sdk7.1 successfully.and upload it 
to my iPad mini 1.
when i run kernel_patcher ,my iPad reboots.
i thought maybe i had patched kernel successfully.
but when i run bruteforce to get passcode,iPad reboots too. i can't obtain the 
passcode.
what 's wrong?

does kernel_patch work on iPhone 4s ios 5.1.1 ?

I tried it with xpwn from github, but iPhone stuck on recovery mode, I had to 
semi restore to keep it on 5.1.1

will make it and it's not about the ios Version it's about the Ship ... Iphone 
for have A4 Ship but iphone 4s have A5 Ship ...

For A4 Ship, I used directly bootrom exploit to use the GID, but for A5, there 
isn't a known bootrom or iBoot exploit to use it. The only way is to patch the 
kernel to enable GID and use xpwn
