Missing the letter "l" #127

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Which program triggers the problem? Specify the filename if possible.
Launch (launchy.exe)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open launch
2. Type some text
3. The lowercase letter "l" is missing.

This has occurred in other applications but I notice it this one because I use
it all the time. It's only the letter "l" that is ever missing.

What version of gdipp (including renderer)? On which operating system?
0.9.1 on Windows 7 x64
This didn't happen in version 0.7.6

Please provide any additional information below. Screenshots always help.

Fixed. This is a simple incompatibility problem.

Hi!
I do not believe this problem is fixed.
I am seeing the same problem occur on Mumble.
See this link: http://cl.ly/3CCO

Some characters are spaced too close together (the l to the c and the e to the
m in "Welcome") and all of the ls in the menu are notably missing.

Thanks for this piece of software,
Jonathan

I have the same issue. I notice it in Google Earth right now, and there have
been others that I can't think of at the moment.

If it helps, the Veoh web player also has the same issue of missing letter Ls.

I'm using 0.9.1 on Windows 7 x64

Er... this is not 'fixed'. I'm having this problem system wide on Win 7 pro
32bit, and also had the exact same issue on Vista HP 32bit.

I have the latest version of Gdipp installed.

It would be a shame if there is no fix for this as it may mean I have to
uninstall gdipp, and I like the gdipp rendering.

running newest 64bit build of gdipp and still have the missing "l" problem
system wide, not in dialog boxes though, likes the one present when gdipp
requests user to restart when doing a repair.

gdipp is fantastic but this issue really drives me crazy. Comment #6 seems to
be the most reasonable explanation.

I found a fix for this myself a while ago but unfortunately I don't think
anyone saw it since the system of conveying information here seems to be a bit
archaic.

Go to your gdipp folder and open gdipp_setting.xml

Find where it says renderer, and it should be at 10. Set it to 11 and the
missing "l" problem should be fixed.

My issue solved.

I did as comment 16. I solved issue on VLC and Firefox input fields (and I
think it's completely over)

Also got rid of smaller system font size, which, I believe, was due to gdipp.
Now, characters look nice - exactly what I expected from gdipp.

Thanks fakesi...@gmail.com.

(first I had to stop gdipp 32 and 64 bit services, then to save the file
separately in the desktop since I didn't have the permission to save in Program
Files. But, I was able to successfully overwrite the original xml file in the
program files. not savvy, but this is what exactly I had to go through.)

You can also make an exception of the incrimined processus: in the settings.xml
in program files!!

I think that it's better that have a bigger font size!
