Font rendering on desktop icons under Windows 8 is a mess for custom profiles #101

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set custom MacType profile, in my case with lighter appearance than normal.
2. Apply profile system-wide.
3. Look at desktop icons with shadows on.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected smooth font rendering as seen everywhere else. See attached screenshot
for comparison.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows 8.1

Please provide any additional information below.
Is there a way to specifically exclude the Windows desktop icons from the
MacType rendering?

Seemed to have fixed the issue by selecting Font Linking: 'Use Win32 to
connect', via the MacType tuner.
