Gradle now offers the option to use a Kotlin file as the gradle build script. We should look into moving over to this option, as it makes more sense for our Kotlin project to use a Kotlin buildscript.

Actually no, the Gradle Kotlin DSL is not ready for widespread use from what I've seen.
