backward chaining with Jason's Prolog engine (OWL QL?)
forward chaining with RDFS and OWL RL (generate optimized plans from inference rules)
statistical reasoning with annotated rules, such as r[a] :- p & q ., SEL or fuzzy rulesets (see Jason doc on annotations)

(No obvious technique for OWL EL?)
