Request: Multiple robot support #64

Closed thetic closed 2 years ago

thetic commented 3 years ago

It would be nice if I could generate maps for multiple robots running valetudo from a single config of this tool.

Hypfer commented 3 years ago

Why not just run this tool multiple times?

thetic commented 3 years ago

I'm running it as a Home Assistant Add-on which makes it near impossible to create multiple instances.

Strohhutpat commented 3 years ago

I also using the Home Assistant Add-on and have 2 S5 Bots (first world problems ^^)

derrohrbach commented 3 years ago

For now you can use my forked addon repo to add a second instance to HA

derrohrbach commented 2 years ago

I really did not plan to maintain my fork. It would be nice if we could find a longer term solution.

Hypfer commented 2 years ago

"We could find" more like "Hey you solve my problem. Now."

classic corporate speak that somehow leaked out and contaminates open source software.

There is no officially supported hassio add-on => There is no issue

derrohrbach commented 2 years ago

No it does not. First of all I aleady did work by making a second repo. Second of all I would be glad to help find a solution. Your hostility sounds more like what contaminated open source, but please let's not fight over this and instead solve thr problem multiple people have. Please tell me, who maintains the hassio addon? so i can contact them. I think we should first discuss a sustainable approch. And please don't assume, that i don't want to contribute!

Please consider switching back to the cloud.

Just for reference

please let's not fight over this and instead solve thr problem multiple people have

There is no problem. The problem is, that people don't want to use this software as it was intended. "Finding a solution" simply means "go implement this feature that I want.", which won't be happening since you're not the manager of this project. You don't get to decide the scope.

Please tell me, who maintains the hassio addon?

You already know that. You've already forked it and it's linked above.

I think we should first discuss a sustainable approch.

The approach is that you accept that this won't be happening.

Your hostility sounds more like what contaminated open source

Honestly I'm out of words about this.

You've been using the result of thousands of hours of work for free. Then you demand even more free work and your reaction to being called out for that is calling me the asshole that contaminates open source?

This is beyond unacceptable, which is why you're banned.

And please don't assume, that i don't want to contribute!

If by contributing you mean forcefully taking control then indeed you're trying to contribute pretty hard.
