I considered six main properties from schema.org for the software source code metadata. These include "programmingLanguage", "runtimePlatform", "targetProduct", "codeRepository", "codeSampleType", and "text".

codeRepository may or may not be the same as the resource URL.
codeSampleType is used to indicate the development stage of a source code.
text can be used to show the textual content of the source code. This property may later be used for the landing page, where we may or may not want to display the content of the codes.
