Section Data for Oregon, Texas and Montana? #47

Open jscheller opened 3 months ago

Hello -

So we've been tracking the progress of privacy legislation here...

https://iapp.org/resources/article/us-state-privacy-legislation-tracker/

...and noted Oregon and Texas had July 2024 implementation dates coming up, plus Montana coming in October. This is followed up with a whole slew in January 2025 (Delaware, Iowa, New Jersey and Tennessee).

Are GPP section definitions and encoder/decoder implementations in the pipeline for these states?

Many thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Yes, there are plans to include these as well after the specs have been finalized.

Just a quick ping on this issue... Google has been sending out email chatter to all of the AdSense publishers discussing privacy compliance for these states, so we're starting to get some awkward questions bubbling up here about our own implementation based on the IAB GPP framework...

Also, realize this isn't the ideal place to ask, but wondering if there's some other forum or discussion group where folks utilizing this library might be participating in discussions about implementations or regulatory issues... There seems to be very little GPP-related dialog around that I've been able to locate and feeling a little alone in the woods at times with this... Any resource recommendations from anyone appreciated.

Thanks @HeinzBaumann ... Any idea how to score an invite to that Slack channel? It seems to only be open to members with an iabtechlab.com email address.
