Note that acmart has defined macros that look like:
\grantsponsor{⟨sponsorID⟩}{⟨name⟩}{⟨url⟩}
\grantnum[⟨url⟩]{⟨sponsorID⟩}{⟨number⟩}.
This is perhaps sufficient to identify the grants. I think the documentation should mention Funder Registry. crossref.org is now indexing work by who funded it, so a funding agency can see who gave credit to them for funding the research. See for example research funded by google. Their api is slow but the metadata looks reasonable.
