I am a bit confused as to why we need to categorize the measures of gait
that would operationally define physical impairment
It would make sense to use cut-off scores like we did with mmse
to define the states. However, we are not using gait
as the outcome (to define the states, transitions among which we study), but as the predictor.
We did indeed applied this to education
, but only (if I recall correctly) to accommodate the scales of this measure in specific studies. I hope we could touch on this during discussion.
