This PR builds on #72 by bringing in updates that are generic and can be used by any workflow and creating new files which are RESCUE specific.

@coroa - I now tried to add as much of the config to the repo as possible, if you have a moment to take a look - let me know what you think. I'll merge this in the coming days.
