it’s a unique URL, so you can point to exactly the right codelist (rather than making the user locate an XLS file, and then figure out which tab in the XLS file is the correct one)
Validation is done against the replicated version, not the source version. So it’s actually more accurate to point to the replicated version (and then point to the source in the description of the replicated version.)
In Aid Type Vocabulary, the URL for code 1 currently points to that OECD DAC page. It would maybe be clearer to point to the replicated version of the codelist, here: http://reference.iatistandard.org/codelists/AidType/
