Request for ARM64/ARMhf OBS releases on Debian 11 #438

Closed theofficialgman closed 2 years ago

theofficialgman commented 2 years ago

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Raspberry PiOS 64bit is now Debian Bullseye based and the default release (not raspbian). Using the debian buster or raspbian buster packages are not an option due to dependencies that no longer exist in bullseye.

Describe the solution you'd like Add arm64 and armhf debian bullseye (11) targets to the OBS repo

Did you format this yourself, or did they set up a template?

this issue is written with the template given by this repo

I've just enabled Raspbian 11 packages for arm7l and aarch64. Give it 10 minutes to an hour and packages should be available. Hopefully that covers it.

well technically "raspbian" has no 64bit version, its a purely 32bit armv6 based OS (which of course brings armv7 compatibility)

enabling armhf and arm64 under debian 11 would have been the better choice

I think OBS treats them all as "Raspbian", since even Raspberry Pi Legacy doesn't use the Raspbian name any more.

But I've also enabled the Debian 11 packages for aarch64 and arm7l because we enable them for any distro where they work.

The packages are now available. I don't know why OBS puts Raspbian under "Unknown" and doesn't give instructions for installing the repo, though. And I can't control it.
