@DoronBrayer Italics in Plex Hebrew were not developed in any weight.
@mjabbink Obviously. That is exactly why it's a feature request.
@DoronBrayer The concept of a "roman" style versus an "italic" style is completely Latin-centric. During the development of Hebrew, Arabic, Devanagari, Thai, Hangul and Japanese the Plex team decided not to impose Latin-centric principles to scripts where they don’t naturally belong to.
The list is long for additions and enhancements that serve broader use cases and users and italics for Hebrew does not fit our current criteria. We have very limited resources dedicated to Plex. If it is determined that a slanted Hebrew is needed by a very broad set of Plex Hebrew users we might consider to add as a future enhancement. Currently we have a long list of priorities which include Plex Math, Plex Chinese (TC/SC) and hopefully Plex Kannada in 2023.
Anyway, thanks for the contribution.
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/IBM+Plex+Sans+Hebrew I really like this font (good job!), but there is no Regular 400 Italic, which is a bummer.
