@anamecheverri Please uninstall DSX Desktop from the Settings menu and re-install the latest version of DSX Desktop (Version 1.1.4) from: http://datascience.ibm.com/desktop. We've addressed many issues in this version. Please let us know if your problem still persists.
Thanks. I ended up doing that - before the new version was available - and that fixed the problem. I have now updated to the new version and everything works as it should. One interesting thing I noticed though.... I created a notebook from an existing one I had created on the cloud version and it did not recognize the kernel. I am guessing the kernels available on the cloud are different than the ones available on the desktop?
@anamecheverri Yes, that's right, the kernels are not shared between cloud and desktop. For desktop, everything is set up locally on your machine. I'm closing this issue as this is not an issue anymore with the latest build (Version 1.1.4).
It actually "creates" the notebook, but I can't open it. It doesn't give me an error. It just hangs.
