Hi @akuckartz, yes, later on RiC-O (which is based on a conceptual model like LRMoo) may become an extension of CIDOC-CRM. Or at least, as we have already discussed this within the EGAD group, it may be articulated with CRM (and LRM). In order to do so, the concerned communities will need to work together. For now, as you said, it is not our top priority. We need to complete and release, ideally before this summer, a v 1.0 of Records in Contexts, which shall therefore be an ICA official recommendation, and include a v 1.0 of the conceptual model and of the ontology, as a domain, generic, reference standard for archival description. As you could see, several issues have already been created with the RiC-O 1.0 milestone, and other ones will be. We also have other mappings in mind. In particular, we have just started to work on articulating RiC and PREMIS, in consultation with the editorial committee of this standard.
Just to also add the latest on the development of LRMoo here:
This obviously is not an issue which can be resolved for RiC-O 1.0.
With LRMoo (fka FRBRoo) there exists a comparable effort to create an ontology implementing the IFLA Library Reference Model. LRMoo is now based on CIDOC CRM. See
