author and affiliation takes a lot of space in the ICLR template. It is therefore often changed and abbreviated using custom headers. If you click through this years camera ready papers [1], about 1/3 use some for of this, for example [2,3]:
First Author¹, Second Author², Senior Author¹³
¹ University... ² Company.. ³ Collage...
The correspondence email and link to code could also be included:
Correspondence to: <mail@university.edu>
Source Code: <link>
The current template unnecessarily penalizes papers with many authors. Changing the template to the proposed and informally already used format, would not take away precious space from the page limit.
