I would vote to keep old logo. This logo is finally becoming a known brand, country teams now recognize and know what it means. Why change now?

It's 2018 and I was thinking it might be good to freshen things up with a new ICPI logo, especially with our revised structure & renamed dataset. I've iterated through a few potential new logo (very much tidyverse inspired). Comments appreciated from @icpi-div/guidance-capacity-buildinghttps://github.com/orgs/icpi-div/teams/guidance-capacity-building and the broader @icpi-div/icpi-generalhttps://github.com/orgs/icpi-div/teams/icpi-general

I was skeptical when you mentioned it (not because i love the current logo), but I really like these, and I don't think they are such a departure from the original that ICPI will become unrecognizable. My favorite is logo 3.
I love the clean look, but can we also get a version that spells out ICPI? Maybe as a backup option?
Actually, now that I'm looking at them again, maybe I like #2 best?
Two is my pick!
i like #2 also, but i wonder how this would look next to the PEPFAR logo (with the tidyverse inspiration) it'd be good to see it side by side.
ask and you shall receive. I like the contrast.
@achafetz awesome! can you make the border less wide for the icpi logo? maybe half it? i do like the muted blues/greys in the proposed version!
We may want to confirm that we can use the OGAC logo. I recall when the ICPI logo was being created there was a lot of tension about incorporating the OGAC logo which was why the existing logo doesn't include it.
I do think incorporating what icpi stands for is helpful...I know I regularly get asked....'what's an ICPI'
It should be PEPFAR for interagency. OGAC is a State Dept logo.

@KTmonkey agree - maybe something like analytics hub?
@MicSherlock, I think its good to stay current (eg fonts and styles go out of style after a while) and it helps propel us with our new ICPI strategy. Organizations tend to recreate their logos frequently (think Google)
@shapaklyak, yeah, I matched the dimensions to the tidyverse hexes, but this is coming off a little too bold. I've reduced the border width and think it looks better.
@KTmonkey & @MicSherlock, we were just putting the PEPFAR logo and ICPI logo next to one another for comparison, not trying to combine these.
@KTmonkey, I'm a fan of keeping things simple. A logo shouldn't be busy or text-laden and often times no spelling out of the full company is need (like these guys, or them or them). Adding in our very long name makes the logo less "crisp". My vote would be to keep it simple (1) .
@achafetz I like your third example of keeping it simple :) If we're going to spell out ICPI, I prefer option 2 to 3 or 4. But I think we're getting asked less and less what ICPI is, especially by countries familiar with the fact views. The agency leads may want to make the call on whether or not spelling out ICPI is needed. The thinner border looks great.
@achafetz i like 2 & 4 above. @kimisatoPC suggested that 2 can be for an abbrev. logo, while 4 could be for a long form of the logo, also perhaps have the border color match the blue in the PEPFAR logo would be interesting to see. also @Yabayabadoo asked why "icpi" is in lowercase and not all caps.
what do you think of putting icpi on top and then analytics below the chart to address @MicSherlock and @KTmonkey point about what is icpi
@achafetz I like option 1 for an abbreviated version on most things, and option 4 (but maybe with justified/resized text so it aligns) for when we need a long form (like the last slide in the presentation template).
I know I'm the person who originally suggested it, but now that I'm thinking it through a little bit more, I don't think that using the full name is that important. If someone doesn't know what icpi is, I'm not sure that telling them it means "interagency collaborative for program improvement" is really going to tell them much more about what actually happens at icpi. For that reason, I say let the icpi stand alone.
@achafetz sending this to Jasmine/OCM tomorrow as well?
I 100% agree with @bbaack
let's go for it @shapaklyak. I would go for 1 and if necessary 4 as a backup. I may or may not have time tonight to play with the font spacing to attempt to justify the text manually.
sounds good @achafetz i'll wait until 10am tomorrow to send option 1 if you have any other updates. if you have time, could you put opt 1 with the pepfar logo? thanks!
alright, @shapaklyak, here's a clean md file that lays our the logo options and recommendation for tomorrow.

thanks @achafetz ! this is great!
@achafetz a few comments from OCM:
@ICPI/guidance-capacity-building this proposed logo slide deck was presented at OCM today.
@ICPI/ocm requested to play around with the logo. Any changes are to be made/discussed by next Thursday (3/22).
@ICPI/ocm, I would suggest you post any suggested changes to this ticket.
Here are my suggestions: As part of this process, I played around with the width of the line. The thinner line doesn't look good when the logo is small. I then played with white space and placement of the ICPI. I am proposing a version with slightly less white space and a "long" version with icpi on the side.
Recommended next steps: 1) Have ICPI analysts vote on the new logo (with any comments) vs. old logo and 2) Present it to leads and Irum.
Explored 1. Greyscale, CAPS, and Ribbon size with folks who gave additional comments and I sugegst adding the following three to the voting options. Propose_ICPI_logo_20180315_JB_V2.pptx
@jb3436, uploaded larger and higher res images for voting into the Documents/LogoOptions folder.

thanks @achafetz . i put it in survey monkey and sent back to @hessionra & ocm for distributing
